![]() That was some of the most fun I’ve ever had gaming. I remember my brother and I installed Diablo II and we both picked the Necromancer, and we both ran around exploding corpses and reviving monsters for hours. Childhood might not be a fair term I wasn’t a child when I first played Diablo II, but I wasn’t exactly an adult either. The Necromancer was a childhood favorite of mine. You can't just take code from one game and plop it into another and expect it to run right off the bat. We're thrilled to announce the return of GamesBeat Summit Next, hosted in San Francisco this October, where we will explore the theme of "Playing the Edge." Apply to speak here and learn more about sponsorship opportunities here. ![]() ![]() Maybe blizzard tagged the loot to differentiate between gems, gear, cosmetics, and currency, and netease just tagged it all as loot, so a script that works based on tags wouldn't work, or they would have to go back and edit the tags for every piece of loot in the game, and then they would have to test if changing the tags breaks anything else in the game at all. There is no UI for pets so they would have to create that or at least convert it from D3, then make all of the buttons interactible, then make sure it's touch-friendly, they would then have to figure out how they want pets to be available, and incorporate them into the loot table for the correct monsters or add them to the shop (create UI for shop same as above) and then they have to import all of the animations for the pets and write the scripts to control them, this part could probably be mostly re-used, and then they have to write the script that checks for eligible loot around the pets and has the pet run off to collect it, this part is probably not reusable because the core of the game was written by netease and there's a solid chance they handle loot differently.
